Healthy Nails

Ensuring you have healthy nails at all times you could follow some simple tips such as:-

Always hydrate your nails with a good cuticle oil every evening before retiring.
Use rubber gloves when washing dishes or doing housework, household cleaners contain chemicals that are detrimental to your nails.
Push back your cuticles gently with an orange stick (which can be bought cheaply from most pharmacies), cutting is not necessary as cuticles are after all there to protect your nails.

File your nails in one direction only, sawing them back and forth will only make them brittle and open to splitting. Do ensure you keep your hands well moisturised with handcream
A clear nail polish will also enhance your nails and protect them in between manicures.
Always use an acetone free nail polish remover, it is less harsh on your nails.

No Drills !!

We do not believe in using drills as we have seen the damage this causes to ones natural nail on countless occassions!
It it known that a cheap product with MMA (methyl methacrylate) is used very often, a substance the FDA called "poisonous and deleterious" in 1974, when it took C.E.B. This product is so hard that it cannot be filed but needs to be drilled. This product can damage the nail plate.
I personally would never let someone drill my nails and this is a practice that we do not ever use on our clients. Our products are professional salon products that are imported from the USA and do not cause damage or harm to one's natural nail, once applied it does not require drilling!!
Take care and avoid harmful applications!!

Interresting nail facts

Nails are the same as hair, your hair and nails are made of the same protein which is called keratin.
Men's nails grow faster than women's nails. Finger nails for both genders grow faster than toe nails. Seasons and weather also affect nail growth. Nails grow faster in warm climates and during daytime.
Nails reflect your health status. Therefore a healthy and wholesome diet will help.
Nail manicure is a very ancient activity. Regular manicures are also known to be a positive and healthy experience and will encourage healthy nail growth.
If you don't drink enough water, this is bad for your health, but you might have never expected that it leads to dry nails as well.
In conclusion I would encourage you to look after your nails and ensure they are well manicured and moisturized.

Eat foods high in gelatine. Good calcium tablets will also help if taken regularly and on a daily basis over an extended period of time. Two to three kelp tablets can also be taken daily to strengthen the nails. Use a good cuticle oil every day to prevent brittleness. Always apply hand and nail cream after every time your hands are exposed to water, this will help retain the moisture.

Growing your own nails

Why will my nails not grow? Unless you have a medical condition that prevents this, your nails are growing! Statistics say that our nails grow about 1/8 of an inch per month. The most common reason why most people's nails don't seem to grow is because they break before they see results. Biting, breaking off the end, splitting or peeling your nails won't help.
I encourage you to make a regular appointment with your nail technician to help and encourage you with your healthy nail growth.

Nail Care Tips

Cuticle care - gently push back your cuticles and apply a good quality cuticle oil each evening before retiring. This will enhance and strengthen you nails and feed them.

Natural nails - If you prefer a natural look. Buff them regularly with a 3 way buffer and apply a good quality cuticle oil.

After washing your hands - always apply handcream to hands and nails which will prevent your nails from becoming brittle. Soap drys out our nails.
