The history of manicures

The first record of manicures that we can find was in India, women used henna to colour their nails. Approximately four thousand ears ago, the first manicure implements were made in Babylonia out of solid gold! Nail polish was first developed in China nearly a thousand years later where the colouring of ones nails became a status symbol. The length of ones nails demonstrated their social importance. It is said that the Dowager Empress of China kept her nails extremely long! In this day and age the longer your nails the rumour would be the less work you do! The most popular manicure choice today is the French manicure. The French manicure which is known for its natural looking white tips. This trend first made an appearance in Paris around the 1800's and was very popular in the 1920's and 30's and of course continues today.

How to strengthen your nails :-
Eat foods high in gelatine. Good calcium tablets will also help if taken regularly and on a daily basis over an extended period of time. Two to three kelp tablets can also be taken daily to strengthen the nails. Use a good cuticle oil every day to prevent brittleness. Always apply hand and nail cream after every time your hands are exposed to water, this will help retain the moisture.

No drills on your nails!!!

We do not believe in using drills as we have seen the damage this causes to ones natural nail on countless occassions!

It it known that a cheap product with MMA (methyl methacrylate) is used very often, a substance the FDA called "poisonous and deleterious" in 1974, when it took C.E.B. This product is so hard that it cannot be filed but needs to be drilled. This product can damage the nail plate.

I personally would never let someone drill my nails and this is a practice that we do not ever use on our clients. Our products are professional salon products that are imported from the USA and do not cause damage or harm to one's natural nail, once applied it does not require drilling!!
Take care and avoid harmful applications.
